Trivia

  • This is one of the many episodes/comics where Timmy disguises as an animal. In this case, a hummingbird and a squirrel alongside Cosmo and Wanda.
  • This is also the fourth time Timmy turns into something, having previously done so in Apartnership, A Mile in My Shoes, The Switch Glitch, and Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary. If you also count Channel Chasers, Hassle in the Castle, Parent Hoods ,When Nerds Collide, Mice Capades, Fly Boy, Teacher's Pet, A Boy and His Dog-Boy, Snack Attack, Gone Flushin', Booby Trapped, and The Hungry Games, he changes a total of 16 times throughout the series.
  • It is revealed that Cosmo was the reason Denzel Crocker lost his fairies and went insane about them due to him being unable to resist his stupidity impulse. Present Cosmo had turned the microphone back on, sending the fairy message from Timmy to everyone while 1970s Cosmo revealed his true form to everyone.
  • March 15, 1972 is the date that Denzel Crocker lost Cosmo and Wanda as his fairy godparents and became a hunchback, lost most of his hair, and other defects due to being overexposed to the laser used by Jorgen von Strangle to wipe Crocker's memory.
    • It was also the day Mark Hoppus and Jennifer Morbitt were born.
  • This is the final episode where Frankie Muniz voices Chester. Jason Marsden, who voiced Chester in the TV movie, Abra-Catastrophe!, would take over the role permanently starting with Which Witch is Which?
  • Timmy yells, "FAIRY GODPARENTS!" and makes crazy poses like Crocker normally does when he learns that he previously had them.
  • The reason the Dinklebergs live next door to the Turners is because Mr. Turner took the "For Sale" sign in front of their house and tossed it backwards, causing it to land in the neighboring house in which the Dinklebergs shortly pulled up and bought.
  • Crocker's car license plate reads "FAIRIES".
  • Crocker had an evil babysitter named Vic, who highly resembles Vicky.
  • Principal Waxelplax was once in love with Crocker until their college years when she found out how crazy he was at his presentation.
  • It is revealed that Geraldine is the first name of Timmy's principal.
  • Dinkleberg was once the boyfriend of Mrs. Turner from when they were kids until college when he ended their relationship after he got rich from his pants.
  • Mr. Turner was once a janitor while in college.
  • It's revealed that Timmy's hat is pink because Mr. and Mrs. Turner had bought it, along with other girl toys, expecting to have a girl instead of a boy.
  • Denzel Crocker was considered a hero in Dimmsdale thanks to the help of Cosmo and Wanda as a kid, though he became hated once everyone's mind was wiped.
  • There was a similar news reporter to Chet Ubetcha in the 1970s named Nanette Ubetcha.
  • This is the first time Denzel Crocker appears a kid. Other appearances include Hassle in the Castle, Birthday Bashed!, Turner & Pooch, Let Sleeper Dogs Lie, and Animal Crockers.
  • Mr. Turner, Mrs. Turner, and Mr. Dinkleberg went to Dimmsdale Elementary School.
  • In the early 1990s, Mr. and Mrs. Turner were into Grunge.
  • In the opening shot in the 1990s, a Clinton/Gore bumper sticker can be seen on the back of a car.
  • The car Dinkleberg and his wife have in the early-90s was a 1976 Porsche 911 Carrera.
  • Principal Waxelplax's early-90s car was a 1965 Ford Galaxie Convertible.
  • When 70's Jorgen forbids Timmy and his fairies from ever returning to March 1972, he allows then to visit other months of that year on the proviso they don't interfere with the election of "President McGovern", thus suggesting Timmy (or another godchild) somehow caused that year's presidential election to end in Democratic candidate George McGovern winning instead of Republican candidate Richard Nixon.
  • This episode also features the predestination paradox as Timmy Turner is the cause of Denzel Crocker losing his fairy godparents while Timmy tried to prevent it, inadvertently revealing his godparents and getting them taken away.
  • In the beginning of the episode, if you look closely at A.J.'s DNA tracking device, it says that Mr. Crocker is 5’10” tall, weighs 128 pounds, and his hair is "fake".
  • During his speech as a child, Denzel Crocker claims that he was born in a log cabin. He also revealed that he has always wanted a pony.
    • In the first episode of Danny Phantom, another cartoon made by Butch Hartman, Jack Fenton says that he was born in a log cabin, and he always wanted a pony. This is a reference to this episode.
  • This reveals that Mr. Turner has been jealous of the Dinklebergs since the 70's.
  • This reveals that Denzel Crocker used to have Fairy Godparents when he was a child.
  • This is the first time a device is used to wipe someone's memory, also establishing that when your fairy's existence is revealed, all memory of them is erased.
  • If Crocker was 10 years old on March 14, 1972, it means that he was born in 1962.
    • This means that when the episode was released in America in 2003, he is 41 years old.
    • However, this is retconned in "Timmy's Secret Wish!", when he is stated to be 43.
    • Its also retconned in “Remy Rides Again”, when Mr Crocker says that Stephen Hawking was his old college roomate, even tho Stephen Hawking was born in 1942.

Allusions

  • Men In Black - The way that Jorgen and the fairies in black made Denzel Crocker and the other people forget about fairies is the same way Agent K and Agent J wiped people's memories. The sound effects are also the same.
  • She Blinded Me with Science - The General's line: "He promised to blind us with science!" is a reference to this song.
  • Flashdance, Michael Sembello - "Wow! She's a maniac, that's for sure!" - Dad says this when Mom is dancing in place, then sits down and water splashes on her. This is in reference to the popular 80s movie "Flashdance". Also, the phrase "She's a maniac" appears in the song "Maniac", which was used in that movie.
  • Devo - The four guys with the keyboards in red hats that were seen entering the Belinda Carlisle Auditorium are based on the new wave band Devo, particularly in their 1980 Freedom of Choice tour outfits. When Timmy enters 1982, a soundalike version of 'Whip It' by the group is playing. One thing to note is how in this depiction there are 4 members of DEVO, where there were 5 members in reality. DEVO also performed a parody of their hit song 'Whip It' for a Fairly Odd Parents commercial 'Wish It'
  • Back to the Future - When Timmy travels to the 80's, you can see a DeLorean leave to time-travel. Also, March 15, the day where Crocker lost his fairy godparents, is also the day where George McFly (one of the main characters of the BTTF Trilogy) was murdered by Biff Tannen (another main character) in the alternate 1973 (also known as "1973A").
  • March 15 - The date, March 15, is also known as the Ides of March, the date Julius Caesar was assassinated. In Hungary, March 15th is a national holiday.
  • U-Haul - Timmy's parents used a "U-Lug" moving truck when they bought their home in the 1990s.
  • Belinda Carlisle - In the 80's, The Dimmsdale University's Auditorium's name is Belinda Carlisle Auditorium.
  • Motorola - Chet Ubetcha used to be taller but was made short by the radiation from a bulky 80's cellular phone resembling the Motorola DynaTAC that he was holding next to him.

Goofs

  • When Mrs. Crocker was bringing Mr. Crocker a March 15 cake, the background behind her briefly shows the outside, even though the scene is taking place in Mr. Crocker's bedroom.
  • If you pay attention to Crocker's shadow while he's giving his speech, during the whole thing, his shadow's mouth stays in one position.
  • Also, Mr. Turner was called "Dad" back then in Father Time!, but in this episode when Timmy calls him that, his Dad does not recognize that name and attempts to correct Timmy with his real one, but is interrupted by a truck.
    • Since "Father Time!" takes place in 1970 and this takes place in 1972, it is possible that Mr. Turner outgrew the name to the point of not remembering it.
  • In the 1982 scene, some things were non-existent yet, just like the DeLorean of Back In The Future or the music career of Belinda Carlisle (both occurred in 1985).
  • In 1992, Mr. Turner tosses away the “For Sale” sign outside Timmy Turner’s home and then lands in the yard in front of Dinkleberg’s house, given that the current position of the “For Sale” sign is behind the white tiles and next to the white straight road leading to the garage. However, in the next scene, the current position of the “For Sale” sign changes to its new position, which is in front of the left bush and the left window and next to the white curved road leading to the house.
  • When the front doors of the shiny sports car open, you will notice that Mrs. Dinkleberg only appears inside the said car and Sheldon Dinkleberg does not. When they come out from the said car, Mrs. Dinkleberg comes out from the inside of the said car to the outside but Sheldon Dinkleberg is actually on the outside of the said car when he comes out.
  • When Cosmo and Wanda poof Timmy up some stylish 1980's clothes so that he would blend in the 80's, he is given a pair of pink lens glasses to put on. However, when Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda appear to be sitting in Belinda Carlisle Auditorium before young adult Denzel Crocker begins his announcement, the pair of said glasses that Timmy is putting on is gone.
    • It might be possible that Timmy takes off a pair of glasses and then puts it somewhere offscreen before appearing in the auditorium.
  • In front of Belinda Carlisle Auditorium, after young adult Denzel Crocker spins, two pieces of paper fall from a stack of paper onto the floor. However, in the scene after the next scene, just as young Geraldine Waxelplax and young adult Denzel Crocker go into the auditorium, two pieces of paper on the floor are gone.
  • The mop head of the mop used by Mr. Turner, if the mop remains idle, changes from the scene where Mr. Turner sees the “Big News Today” sign to the scene after the next scene where he says, “Big news means big messes.”.
  • The floor of Belinda Carlisle Auditorium has black and green blue square tiles on it. However, there are some errors regarding the said floor.
    • The square tiles on the floor are irregular throughout the interior design of Belinda Carlisle Auditorium.
    • In the scene where Chet Ubetcha is shown to be much taller than normal, if you look at the lower left corner of the scene, you will see that one green blue square tile between the two black square tiles disappear, replacing the extra one black square tile joining the two black square tiles.
  • The front of the podium in Belinda Carlisle Auditorium has some following changes below.
    • In two scenes where Mr. Turner pops out behind the left curtain of the stage and young adult Denzel Crocker jumps over the podium and then tries to stop the audience laughing at him, the front of the podium has a mirror-like, vertical rectangle.
    • In two scenes where the projection screen starts lowering down but only halfway and the first image of nearly discovered actual proof that fairies float among them is only shown, the front of the podium has a normal-sized, light blue square with a blue, thick square frame on it.
    • In one scene where young adult Denzel Crocker begins his announcement and another scene between two scenes where three images of nearly discovered actual proof that fairies float among them and two images where the painful monitor collar is placed on the child are shown, the front of the podium is blank.
    • In one scene where young adult Denzel Crocker remarks that today was the second worst day of his life, the front of the podium has a big, light blue, vertical rectangle with a blue, thin frame on it.
    • In the rest of the scenes involving the front of the podium, the front of the podium has a normal-sized, light blue, vertical rectangle with a blue, thick frame on it.
  • One background person is behind the left side of Mrs. Turner and two background persons is behind the right side of her. However, in one scene where Mrs. Turner finishes dancing, the distance of the three background persons behind her are slightly farther. Also, when Sheldon Dinkleberg and Mrs. Turner sit together, three background persons behind her are gone.
  • In Belinda Carlisle Auditorium, there are Chet Ubetcha and four notable persons from left to right; Person 1 is a rookie soldier who puts on a green military hat and wears the green military uniform, Person 2 is a sergeant who puts on a green military hat with a yellow star on it, wears the green military uniform where two yellow epaulettes are fastened to his shoulders with two yellow stars attached on top of them and has badges on the uniform, Person 3 is a scientist who has brown hair at the back of his head, puts on the head mirror and a pair of glasses and wears the white lab coat and a pair of light blue pants and Person 4 is a scientist who has grey hair, the grey mustache on his face, has a pen in the pocket on the white shirt and wears the white lab coat and a pair of brown pants. However, there are some errors that affect their appearances.
    • When Mrs. Turner dances, none of them appear on the right side of her.
    • When Sheldon Dinkleberg and Mrs. Turner sit together, Chet Ubetcha and Persons 1-4 appear on the right side of them.
    • When Persons 2 and 3 eagerly shout yes, Person 4 is absent.
    • When Person 3 shows Sheldon Dinkleberg’s parachute pants to Person 2, Person 1 is absent.
  • Mrs. Turner finishes her last dance move by squatting down and raising her arms and her left leg before the water splashes onto her. In the next scene, however, when two images of Mrs. Turner appear on a pair of Mr. Turner’s eyes, her arms are lowered down instead of raised up.
  • The water splashes onto Mrs. Turner after her dance, leaving the water puddle around her. However, starting from the scene where Sheldon Dinkleberg uses the hair dryer to dry Mrs. Turner’s hair after her dance onwards, the water puddle is gone if one barely looks down the scene below.
  • In the 80’s scene, Sheldon Dinkleberg wears his white jacket with the red collar and three black diagonal stripes on each side bodies of his jacket. However, when he says, “And we’re through.” while holding the $50,000 and $100,000 checks and then leaves, the three black diagonal stripes on the right side body of his jacket are gone.
  • Even though the hair dryer that Sheldon Dinkleberg is using to dry Mrs. Turner’s hair after the water splashes onto her at the end of her dance has the unseen switch, he is just simply holding the hair dryer without turning the switch on.
  • When the scientist says the last three words of his sentence, “This Crocker kid says his discovery’s going to change the world.”, his head moves slightly to the right from his body.
  • The scientist and the sergeant have $50,000 and $100,000 checks respectively on their hands. On the front of the $50,000 check written by the scientist, the test tube is on the top left corner of his check, there are the words, "SCI-LAB" and "Mar 15, 83" on the top of his check with the flask between them and there are the numbers, "40017356400" and the signature on the bottom of his check. On the other hand, on the front of the $100,000 check written by the sergeant, there are eight yellow stars and the yellow eagle symbol in the middle of the eight yellow stars on the top of his check and there are the numbers, "0047108274500" and the signature with a red underline with two yellow leaves crossing each other between them on the bottom of his check. On the front of both checks, there are two "0" numbers with two short lines pinching them on the top right side of their respective numbers. However, there are some errors regarding both checks.
    • If you look at the back of both checks, you will see that the images on the front of both checks are upside down.
    • Some errors have also been appeared on the front of both checks in one frame where the back of both checks are first partially seen just as they are about to say the second "yes" in the scene where the sergeant and the scientist eagerly shout yes.
      • On the front of the scientist’s check, the uncleared writing and “$50,000” only appear on the right side of his check.
      • On the front of the sergeant’s check, the two "0" numbers with two short lines pinching them are on the bottom right side of "$100,000" and the four yellow stars appear on the bottom right corner of his check.
  • In a split second before the back of both checks are first seen, the scientist is holding the left side of his $50,000 check with his right hand. However, by one frame where the back of both checks are first seen, he is holding the top and bottom sides of his said check with his right hand.
  • In the scene where the sergeant and the scientist eagerly shout yes, when the scientist shouts the third “yes”, his mouth opens, closes and then opens again in a split second.
  • The sergeant’s eyes are not visible at first, instead placing two short, curved lines on each side of his eyes. However, starting from the scene where the sergeant and the scientist eagerly shout yes onwards, the sergeant’s eyes are visible.
  • The sergeant's chin has a cross mark on it and its colour is pale. However, in the scene where Chet Ubetcha is shown to be much taller than normal, the green portion appears on his chin instead of normal pale colour.
  • The sergeant wears his green military uniform where two yellow epaulettes are fastened to his shoulders with two yellow stars attached on top of them. He also puts on his military hat with a yellow star with an olive outline on it. However, there are some errors in some scenes below.
    • The positions of the two yellow stars, top parts and the fringes of the epaulettes change throughout his appearance.
    • In the scene where Chet Ubetcha is shown to be much taller than normal, the colour of the outline of the yellow star on his military hat is black.
    • In another scene where the scientist says, “Who knows what could be in them.”, the colours of the top parts of the two epaulettes are green and the two yellow stars are attached to the top of the two fringes of the two epaulettes. On the other hand, the colour of the outline of the yellow star on his military hat is also black.
  • The rookie soldier looks at the sergeant holding the $100,000 check. However, the rookie soldier looks ahead in the next scene by one frame.
  • There are two errors when the radiation from the 1980 cellphone shrinks Chet Ubetcha in two scenes.
    • The height of the cellphone in first scene is slightly shorter than in the second scene.
    • In the first scene, his right hand is holding on the side of the cellphone but in the second scene, his right hand is holding behind the cellphone.
  • After the radiation from the 1980 cellphone shrinks Chet Ubetcha, the cellphone slams him completely and he is unable to move. However, when the audience starts laughing at young adult Denzel Crocker after his announcement, Chet Ubetcha’s feet pop out of the cellphone before he throws the cellphone away and starts laughing at Crocker.
  • In the scene where Chet Ubetcha is shown to be much taller than normal, there is no audience seating on the right. However, in the next scene, there is the audience seating on the right when the radiation from the 1980 cellphone finishes shrinking Chet Ubetcha and then slams him.
  • The typical person who has brown skin colour and wears a turquoise shirt is sitting way behind the rookie soldier and the sergeant when the radiation from the 1980 cellphone finishes shrinking Chet Ubetcha and then slams him. However, when the audience is laughing at young adult Denzel Crocker, the said person is sitting on the right side of the three different persons who are laughing at Crocker and behind Timmy.
  • Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda are sitting on the empty audience seating in Belinda Carlisle Auditorium. However, when the audience is laughing at Crocker, three different persons and one typical person mentioned above appear behind Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda and there are no seats on the right side of Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda.
  • When young adult Denzel Crocker says, “Why, with the help of...”, the upper corner of his mouth above the right temple of his pair of glasses disappears when talking.
  • In the close-up scene of young adult Denzel Crocker pressing the button to start the slideshow during his announcement, there is a very short, black dotted line on the side between the right cuff and the right sleeve.
  • The projection screen that is used for young adult Denzel Crocker’s announcement has the frame around it where all sides are roughly equal. However, in two scenes where three images of nearly discovered actual proof that fairies float among them and two images where the painful monitor collar is placed on the child are shown, the lower side of the frame of the projection screen extends down the scene.
    • Also, in the scene where three images of nearly discovered actual proof that fairies float among them is shown, there is a straight line in the middle of the scene below where young adult Denzel Crocker pops up during his announcement.
  • There are two errors in the first image of nearly discovered actual proof that fairies float among them in two scenes.
    • The height of the cloud in the lower left corner of the said image in the first scene is shorter than in the second scene.
    • The number of small loops around the outline of the cloud in the lower left corner of the said image is 5 in the first scene and 6 in the second scene, which has one small loop short.
  • The audience laughs young adult Denzel Crocker off the stage after his announcement. However, when young Geraldine Waxelplax cries, two people between her do not laugh at him.
    • Also, one of the two people who is sitting on the right side of her is not smiling.
  • In the scene where the scientist and the sergeant refuse to give the checks to young adult Denzel Crocker, the audience seating barely has no seats and no handles, making the standing positions of the rookie soldier and the sergeant and the sitting position of the scientist strange.
Secretorigincrocker291

The strange standing positions of the rookie soldier and the sergeant and the strange sitting position of the scientist

  • When the sergeant says, “He promised to blind us with science.”, he puts the back of his left hand on his left wrist and raises his right arm and the scientist is crossing his arms while sitting. However, in the next scene, the sergeant’s said posture mentioned above changes to him crossing his arms while smiling by one frame offscreen and the sitting posture of the scientist changes to his standing posture by one frame offscreen before this scene zooms out when the scientist shows the sergeant Sheldon Dinkleberg’s parachute pants.
  • After Sheldon Dinkleberg breaks up with Mrs. Turner and when she cries, her crying sound does not sync well with her mouthing.
  • Between Mr. Turner’s lines, “Not to take advantage if you want to rebound, but...”, and “...may I mop off your tears?”, his nose disappears for a split second.
  • When Timmy arrives at Crocker's childhood and Cosmo and Wanda appear at Timmy simultaneously, two “ping” sounds are heard. This error is considered as the sound error.
  • When Wanda says "Dimmsdale, March 14, 1972, Crocker's childhood." and an overview scene of Crocker's childhood is shown, Wanda's mouth doesn't move when talking.
  • Cosmo and Wanda simply poof up a smiley face on Timmy’s pink shirt so that Timmy will blend in the 1970s. However, starting from the scene after Timmy uses a pair of spy goggles to overhear that tomorrow is Denzel Crocker Day onwards, the smiley face on Timmy’s pink shirt is gone.
  • When young Denzel Crocker is first shown while playing his yo-yo, his right palm is facing up without moving while playing it with his eyes closed. As he throws his yo-yo for the third time and in the next scene by one frame, the position of his yo-yo changes from the lower position to the higher position without snapping his yo-yo back up before he throws his yo-yo for the fourth time and his eyes become open.
  • Even though Geraldine Waxelplax is a young girl in the 70’s, her voice is still the same as herself in the present, as well as herself in the 90’s and the 80’s.
  • When 70’s Cosmo is flying around in a small circle, the frame where he faces right changes to the another frame where he faces left by one frame and then cycles itself until 70’s Wanda grabs his hair.
  • There is a position error for Cosmo in the form of the tent. Tent Cosmo is facing away from young Denzel Crocker's house next to a tree when Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda are sleeping. When Timmy uses Wanda in the form of a pair of binoculars to see young Denzel Crocker and his mother, Tent Cosmo is facing towards young Denzel Crocker's house.
  • When Timmy tells Cosmo and Wanda that young Denzel Crocker is “going to the parade”, this is wrong. This is possibly because no parade is involved during Denzel Crocker Day.
  • In the overview scene of Denzel Crocker Day, the crowd, the City Hall and some city buildings are joined together strangely.
  • There are two errors between the overview scene of Denzel Crocker Day and the scene where young Denzel Crocker begins his speech.
    • The banner hanging under the roof of the City Hall displays “DENZEL CROCKER”. However, when young Denzel Crocker begins his speech, the banner only displays the word “DENZEL” with two stars on the left side of the said word instead.
      • Also, when Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda appear in front of the City Hall, the banner disappears.
    • The balloons appear on top of two speakers. However, when young Denzel Crocker begins his speech, the balloons on the two speakers disappear.
  • During Denzel Crocker Day, when the Mayor of Dimmsdale speaks at the podium, there are no microphones on the podium. When young Denzel Crocker begins his speech, there are three microphones on the podium. However, when Timmy knocks Crocker and 70’s Cosmo off of the stage in slow motion, four wires are moving in a smooth and flowing manner indicating that four microphones are connected to the speaker.
  • 70's Cosmo and 70's Wanda poof up a long paper of speech for young Denzel Crocker to speak during Denzel Crocker Day. However, after Crocker finishes his speech and when the speech paper drops, the speech paper is shorter than he held previously.
  • When 70's Cosmo and 70's Wanda poof up a long paper of speech for young Denzel Crocker to speak during Denzel Crocker Day, a box of fireworks doesn't appear behind 70's Cosmo. However, in the next scene, when the camera pans from 70's Cosmo to 70's Wanda and then pans back at 70's Cosmo, a box of fireworks appears behind 70's Cosmo.
  • When young Denzel Crocker begins his speech, his mouth moves when the Mayor of Dimmsdale appears next to him and the crowd is in front of the City Hall. However, as Timmy finishes saying, “Wanda, kill the power. I have to get Denzel away from that microphone.” and the camera pans at Crocker reading his speech, Crocker’s mouth doesn’t move when reading his speech and the Mayor of Dimmsdale and the crowd are nowhere to be seen.
  • After Timmy knocks young Denzel Crocker and 70's Cosmo off of the stage, four microphones are in front of Crocker and Timmy together. When 70's Cosmo says "Hey, is this thing on?", one of the microphones is a bit farther away from the other three microphones. When Timmy says "But it doesn't matter. You have to go home. Your secret is in great danger.", one of the microphones is back in the original position alongside the other three microphones.
