The Fairly OddParents! Theme Song is the show's first intro ever, running from Season 1 to Season 9 with the exception of the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour trilogy (instead this theme and the Jimmy Neutron theme are used as a medley), "A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!". The theme song is used to give the basic premise of the show, about Timmy's miserable life, his inattentive parents, his mean babysitter Vicky, and his magical fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. At the end of the intro, Vicky's head changes into a different item usually relating to the episode. It was written by Ron Jones and show creator Butch Hartman. It was replaced by Chloe's Theme Song for the show's tenth season.

Intro[]

The title sequence starts at the suburbs in a blueprint variant and zooms into the bus. Timmy is sitting on the bus feeling bored until they laugh at him. The bus drops him off until a bowling ball hits him, causing him to land onto the puddle. The outdoor shows Mr. and Mrs. Turner alongside with Vicky pushes the door onto the grass. She runs outside to capture him and says "BED, TWERP!" to Timmy, and zooms into Vicky's mouth while laughing evilly. Timmy runs upstairs to his bedroom and finds a fishbowl with his fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo (all seasons) and later, Poof (seasons 6-10). They jump out of the fishbowl and turn themselves into fairies. Timmy sees toys coming out of the toybox and a toy dinosaur becomes a real one. Cosmo is in the dinosaur's mouth and tries to get out of it but the dinosaur munches him instead. On a pink background, Timmy and his fairy godparents are riding on a train with the tracks as piano keys, and then they play musical instruments. They turn themselves into peas, and Timmy turns into a man with large muscles while Wanda and Cosmo turn themselves back into fairies, before giving Timmy a race car. They chase Vicky and turn her into a set of geometric shapes, a rubber goose, a moose, a cup of guava juice and a snake until it scares them. Wanda and Cosmo appear on a birthday cake. They disappear because Timmy is standing on large fries and his fairy godparents join them to jump into a chocolate milkshake. Timmy's fairy godparents are having a party dance at the club until Cosmo's hat flies out. Timmy is inside the hat while Wanda and Cosmo use their magic wands to make the background white. At the end, it reads "The Fairly OddParents!" Wanda and Cosmo sit on the title, and Vicky and Timmy join them as the team until her head turns into something.

Lyrics[]

Timmy is an average kid that no one understands
Mom and Dad and Vicky
always giving him commands.
Vicky: BED TWERP!
The doom and gloom up in his room
is broken instantly
By his magic little fish
Who grant his every wish
'Cause in reality
They are his...
Godparents, Fairly OddParents!
Wanda: Wands and wings!
Cosmo: Floaty crowny things! *gets eared on Dinosaur mouth*
OddParents, Fairly OddParents!
Really mod, pea pod, buff bod, hot rod!
Timmy:
Obtuse, rubber goose, green moose, guava juice!
Giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake!

Intro-00096

The Fairly OddParents main title screen (moments away before Vicky's head turns into something)

OddParents, Fairy OddParents!
It flips your lid
When you are the kid
With Fairly OddParents!
Vicky: Yeah right!
[wishing noise and Vicky's head turns into something, determined by the episode]

Trivia[]

  • In the movie, Abra-Catastrophe!, apes become the dominant species of Earth and Jorgen Von Strangle declares that Fairies must now serve the apes, leading into a version of the theme song called "The Fairly Odd Primates" featuring monkey versions of Cosmo, Wanda, Vicky, Mr. Turner, and Mrs. Turner.
  • If you compare the theme in some episodes, you will notice that certain episodes have a higher tune.
  • In both versions of the intro, the rain stops immediately after Timmy is hit with the volleyball.
  • In the Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour trilogy, Timmy battles with Jimmy Neutron over which of the two themes to use for the special. The credits feature a medley of the two themes.
  • In the first Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour, Jimmy Neutron calls Timmy an "average kid who no one understands". Cosmo later says they should make a song out of it.
  • In the episode, "Something's Fishy", a shark claims he recognizes Cosmo's "pointy crowny thing".
  • In the episode, "Timmy's Secret Wish!", Jorgen sings the first part of the song before the song, "A Million Wishes" starts.
  • On the album, The Newest Nicktoons, the song is presented without the character vocals for some reason.
  • The ending credits is the alternate instrumental for this song (commonly mistaken as the real instrumental).
  • This theme song is used in every season of the show until Season 10, when it replaced by Chloe's Theme Song.
  • Since Billionfold entered the production crew, the theme song is cut for its logo and the following Frederator logo but returns with the final few notes for the Nickelodeon logo. This is interesting since in Danny Phantom, the music is played over the DP theme.
  • The rhyming of Vicky being turned into a giant snake and later a chocolate shake is based on the pilot episode.
  • Timmy was originally going to get hit with a soccer ball. It was changed to a Volleyball.
  • Every episode of the theme song expect for Escape From Unwish Island where Cosmo and Wanda turn Vicky's head something determined to the episode. In Escape From Unwish Island Cosmo's head was turned to Vicky.
  • In the Albanian (Season 9 only, with subtitles), Italian, Latin American Spanish, Malay, Mandarin (Season 9 only) and Turkish dubs, the intro is left in English and only the spoken lines are dubbed (The Turkish dub leaves the entire intro in English from Season 6 onwards, and the Albanian dub has the whole intro in English in Seasons 1-8).

Goofs[]

  • When Timmy is in the car and changes Vicky, you can see the wheels are not moving.
Wanda pink

Wanda's shirt is pink instead of yellow, Cosmo's tie is right behind him.

  • When Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda are in the train in the first version of the intro, Cosmo's tie is right behind him. Also on the same scene, Wanda's shirt was pink. Starting in 2008 with the premiere of Fairly OddBaby, both of these errors were corrected.
    • It is clearly shown that Cosmo's tie was behind him because the train is moving fast. Therefore the air causes it to go back.
      • Soon after the new theme was released the multiple tie error was fixed.
Intro-00067

Wanda's eyebrows are missing

  • In the old theme, When Timmy's poofed in the car for a brief second Wanda's eyebrows are missing.
    • It was fixed when the new theme came out.
  • Since Timmy just says "green moose", it is unknown why Vicky was turned into a male moose instead of a female moose.
  • In the official Nickelodeon YouTube channel upload of the standard-definition opening, an audio description narration track can faintly be heard in the background saying the following:
    • "In animation."
    • "Children tease Timmy."
    • "From goldfish, they become Cosmo, a green-haired man, and Wanda, a pink-haired woman, with wings and wands, granting Timmy's wishes."
      • This was later fixed when they re-uploaded it with different footage instead.
