  • Poltergeeks - The episode' title and the title card are a reference to the 1982 horror movie, Poltergeist.
  • Pac-Man - Pac-Man ghosts make a briefly appearance cameo on one of the screens of Mr. and Mrs. Turner' lair.

1980s Chet Ubetcha

  • Subway - Cosmo says he wanted a submarine sandwich, which spoofs the subs.
  • Michael Jackson - Chet Ubetcha's suit back in the 1980s closely resembles the Concert attire that the late Michael Jackson was known for.
  • Lego - When Cosmo, Wanda and Poof go out of the ghost-catching box, they are Lego-shaped.
  • The Amazing World of Gumball - When the boar jumps out of the window by itself, it makes a reference to episode ,The Party, where Jamie was about to throw the TV out of the house, and then itself throw by the window.


  • After Cosmo and Wanda get in the ghost-catching box, Timmy's mom picks it up, yet Timmy still has it.

Running Gags

  • Mr. Turner throwing money at people.
  • Timmy being called crazy, and then someone saying, "Not according to the court-ordered psychiatrist!"
