- The title is a parody of the police drama The Mod Squad.
- Odd Squad - Title is a reference to MAD Magazine issue #127 on June 1969.
- The talking car is a take on the show, Knight Rider.
- Cosmo's quote "Laws? Where we're going, we don't need laws." is a reference to Doc Brown's quote from the end of Back to the Future Part 1, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads".
- The phrase "Mustaches are cool!" is a reference to Doctor Who, when the Doctor says, "Bowties are cool".

- Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda keeping on finding clues.

Goofs
- At the end of the episode, when Timmy says Just until we fade to black his hat appears to be the same color as his hair, but inside of the hat, its still pink.
- After Cosmo cries the first time, he says he needs more crying fluid. However, he is later crying in the episode.
- Jorgen says he lost his teddy bear, but before he poofed away, he was holding it.
